Your engineers shouldn't be designing... the same thing ...over and over again.

Balanced Design Solutions helps small and mid-size manufacturers automate repetitive engineering work — so custom orders quote in minutes, drawings generate themselves, and your best people get their time back.

What we do

Three ways we take repetitive work off your engineering team

Design automation

Turn your custom-order process into a configurator. Sales enters the specs; models, drawings, and BOMs generate themselves — correctly, every time.

Process improvement

Find the bottlenecks between quote and shop floor, then build the integrations and internal tools that remove them for good.

New product development

Design new products with automation in mind from day one — so the tenth variation costs a fraction of the first.

Real work

Two weeks to two minutes

Real projects for real manufacturers — told plainly, because the results don't need dressing up.

Dehumidifier manufacturer — the problem

Their sales drawing was the heart of every proposal: a pre-engineered package that took two weeks to produce, for products ranging from dishwasher-size to tractor-trailer-size. Two automation contractors had already tried and failed — months of development cost, nothing working.

What changed

BDS rebuilt the project and delivered. Phase one automated their eight most-quoted configurations: two weeks became five minutes. Phase two expanded to 83 base configurations — trillions of possible combinations — with a redesigned interface and a new architecture that cut it to two minutes.

Horse stall manufacturer — the problem

They were about to hire a full-time CAD designer. Two SOLIDWORKS licenses, two owners with limited modeling skills, and every custom stall order waiting on design work.

What changed

We started small: one stall door, billed hourly. It quickly became clear the answer wasn't more CAD hours — it was a configurator. Today every stall product line, plus several others, configures itself. They never made that hire.

Ongoing support

All the DriveWorks help you need. No full-time hire required.

Finding — and affording — a full-time DriveWorks developer is out of reach for most small manufacturers. A simple monthly arrangement with BDS covers what you actually need: your configurators stay current, small changes never wait for a quote, and development hours are there when you want to grow.

How we work

Small projects first. Trust before scope.

1 — Find the repeat work

A short working session to map where your team designs the same thing twice. You'll know the opportunity before you commit to anything.

2 — Prove it small

We automate one product line or one workflow first. Real results in weeks, not a year-long platform project.

3 — Grow what works

Every project is built to extend — more products, more rules, more of your process, at your pace.
